1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

The style I bring to my client’s home is a sophisticated modern/classic look. It’s uncluttered with a less-is-more feel. We use calming neutrals with pops of color.  Think Williams-Sonoma Home meets Modern Restoration Hardware.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I work in both interior design and as a home stager. So, for staging the underlying principles are how to appeal to the masses. For that I tune into my knowledge on trending colors, furniture lines, and what sells.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I have huge admiration for the contractors I work with. I can show and explain the vision of  what I would like to see but they can build it and make it become a reality. We are a team and I love seeing the transformation come to life! As far as inspiration for a design, I’m obsessed with William Sonoma Home and the looks their designer’s create.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I’m a people pleaser by nature. So I get excited thinking about the client having a place they want to come home to and finding happiness in their new space. Or if they are selling their home I think about all the success’ we’ve had in the past making a home look like a magazine showcase.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Staging and Design is a second phase career for me. When I began I had goals and a business plan but I have stayed very open to organic growth and letting the tide take me. For example, I teach for an academy in design and staging and that’s something I never anticipated or had in the business plan. It’s also one of the most enjoyable aspects of my work. I love teaching! So, my advice is to have a plan but stay open.
